Welcome to the Boswell blog

We build Boswell in the open, and we wanted a place to write about it that lives on our own site, not on someone else's platform. So here's the blog.

What this is for

Boswell is a local-first meeting-notes app: it records, transcribes, and summarizes your meetings right on your Mac, with no bot in the call and the AI running on-device by default instead of in the cloud. Your audio stays on the machine that recorded it, and your notes sync through your own private iCloud, not a server we run.

That stance shapes a lot of small engineering decisions that never make it into a changelog. This is where we'll write some of them down: the why behind a feature, a privacy trade-off we wrestled with, the occasional release note that deserves more than one line.

What to expect

For a sense of the deep dives, start with how Boswell turns your meetings into notes on your Mac.

No newsletter spam, no growth-hacking. Just notes from the people building the app, on the same domain you downloaded it from.

If you want to follow along, the RSS feed has everything.
